The cooking hob has a base pan (12) bridged by a cooking plate (14) and a resistive heating element (22) on the plate side (20) of the pan facing the plate at a distance from it and forming a radiation heating source. The cooking plate consists of sintered silicon carbide or silicon nitride. This can be liquid-phase sintered silicon carbide or silicon nitride. The liquid-phase sintered silicon carbide can have sinter additives, whereby the residual grain boundary phase is defined by the quantity of sinter additive, the sinter temp. and the sintering period.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Kochmulde (10), bei welcher in üblicher Weise unter der Kochplatte (14) eine Wärmestrahlungsquelle in Form eines Widerstandsheizelementes (22) vorgesehen ist. Zur Verbesserung des Wärmeleitverhaltens gegenüber Glaskeramikkochplatten wird eine Kochplatte (14) aus gesintertem Siliziumkarbid oder Siliziumnitrid vorgeschlagen. <IMAGE>
