[origin: EP0836209A2] The circuit-breaker has a rotationally symmetrical arc- extinction chamber, with a pair of diametrically opposing spaced contact devices (5,6) aligned with its central axis (2), which can be bridged by a bridging contact extending along this axis. The annular gap (36) between the contact devices is enclosed by an annular heating volume (13), directly communicating with the annular gap.
