[origin: WO9743049A1] The invention relates to a device (10) for cleaning articles soiled by paint, in particular paint spray guns (42), comprising a multichamber housing which can be tightly sealed and a plurality of cleaning nozzles (24) for cleaning fluid inside the housing. The article(s) (42) to be cleaned is/are attached to a housing member such as the cover (32) of the housing, and one or a plurality of ultrasound transmitters (30) is/are arranged in the region of the articles (42) to be cleaned. The associated method has the following steps: opening the housing; attaching the articles to be cleaned to the opened housing section; closing the housing and cleaning the articles by rotating the same; injecting cleaning fluid under pressure towards the articles to be cleaned; and transmitting ultrasound waves towards the articles to be cleaned.
