[origin: DE19524315C1] The invention concerns a tool (10) for trimming and shaping the base edge (12) of a profiled concrete roofing tile blank (14) produced by the extrusion moulding method. The tool (10) comprises a holder (16), a cutting plate (20) provided with a cutting edge (18), and a profiled body (22). According to the invention, in order to produce a tool for trimming and shaping a concrete roofing tile blank such that the tool has a substantially longer useful life, the holder (16) and the profiled body (22) are integrally formed as a carrier member (24) with a recess (26) in which the cutting plate (20) is mounted in an interlocking manner and with bonding of the materials. The cutting plate (20) is made of hard metal and is bonded into the recess (26). The upper edge of the cutting plate (20) abuts at least one projection (28) on the carrier member (24).
