[origin: EP0837024A2] To wind a yarn of a given length on to a bobbin, on a powered spindle, the spindle rotary speed is measured on one side and, on the other side, the yarn delivery speed is measured. The computation of the actual wound bobbin dia. is through a comparison with a given bobbin dia. containing a given wound yarn length. The spindle drive and the yarn feed are stopped under computer control when the actual wound bobbin dia. matches the nominal dia. of the model.
