[origin: EP0837163A1] The assembly for the prodn. of non-woven webs from fibre materials, using a carding action, has at least one roller (8,10) between the take-off section (3) of the card and the calender (2). The roller (8,10) has an air-permeable mantle over at least part of its circumference, with inner suction. Also claimed is an operation where the carded web (20) is converted into a non-woven web (22) in an assembly with at least one roller (8,10,12) with suction applied to its surface, to deliver the material to the calender (2).
