[origin: EP0837172A1] A drum washing machine comprises a program control unit which contains at least two different rinsing programs, which can be selected for at least a proportion of the rinsing cycles and are equipped with specific selection parameters. The selection takes place in accordance with the loaded washing volume and/or type, and the succeeding rinsing cycle. At least one rinsing program is provided for rinsing with free solution and an additional program is provided for rinsing without free solution. In the first program, part of the fresh water is introduced directly by means of a spray unit (12) on the washing (13), which rotates at a high speed and adheres to the drum wall.
