[origin: WO9703295A1] The invention concerns a device for connecting, for example, two wooden parts which are to be bonded together and have mutually abutting flat surfaces. The device comprises two sections (31, 32), each of which is provided with barb-like projections (35). The two sections (31, 32) are movably guided in the axial direction (36) and mutually spring-loaded. The sections are held at a spacing by a spacer which is destroyed as a result of an impact being applied to one of the wooden parts to be connected. The two sections (31, 32) are consequently moved towards each other owing to the spring-loading and the two wooden parts are urged against each other such that they are held rigidly.
