[origin: EP0838264A2] The method involves mixing the material with water or other cleaning agent in a first stage. At least one further finishing area (6,10,16) is provided in the conveyor channel (2) separated from a next finishing area by an intermediate wall (12,13). A further washing, rinsing, draining, drying, screening and-or further finishing processes can be carried out. Water or cleaning medium can be supplied to the material being cleaned in the conveyor channel in a separate finishing area whereby a washing process is carried out by vibration agitation. This process can be repeated in a further separate finishing area. Coarse foreign particles are screened out through the screening process.
