Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0838568A1] The key has an aperture (3) for a transponder, at least one ferrite coil antenna and a cable for connecting the transponder and antenna. The coil is on the side of the aperture facing the key shaft (5). The groove-shaped aperture extends from one narrow side (4) of the key shaft around the remaining narrow sides (6,7,8) to the other narrow side (9) of the shaft. A ferrite coil (21,22) is mounted in each narrow side and connected to the code generator (20) via a cable (23,24). The coils, code generator and cables are enclosed by metal on three sides.
