Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0838590A1] The compressor has cylinder blocks (30, 31) containing cylinder bores (41, 42). A drive shaft (39) is rotatably supported in the cylinder blocks (30, 31). A swash plate (40) is attached to the drive shaft (39) to be rotatable integrally therewith. A piston (1) is slidably housed in the cylinder bores (41, 42). A shoe (44) is slidably interposed between the piston (1) and the swash plate (40). As the swash plate (40) rotates, the piston (1) is reciprocated via the shoe (44). The piston (1) is made of an aluminum or aluminum alloy matrix. The piston (1) contains a receiving recess (2) for slidably receiving the shoe (44) therein. A coating layer (6) containing tin as a major component is formed at the receiving recess (2) of the piston (1). <IMAGE>
