Abstract (en)
The method involves placing two elements (4) on larger support surfaces (41,42) which are brought opposite each other but are kept apart by a bracing (44) positioned between two small support plates (45) The whole assembly is then heated to the melting point of a joint (20) during a sufficiently long period to allow the joint material to be degassed. The temperature is then locally increased to melt the bracing, which has a higher melting point than the joint but a similar linear expansivity so the two elements are brought together by mechanical pressure and sealed. The first element may constitute the flat screen display while the second element may form an enclosure defining a reception area for an impurity trap linking with the interior of the screen.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'assemblage de deux éléments espacés (1, 4) au moyen d'un joint de scellement périphérique, consistant à rapporter un joint (20) de scellement sur une surface d'un premier élément (4) en regard d'une surface à assembler d'un deuxième élément (1), à porter l'ensemble ainsi constitué, sous vide, à une température permettant la fusion du joint (20) tout en maintenant temporairement, au moyen d'entretoises (44) présentant une épaisseur supérieure à l'épaisseur du joint et réparties à l'extérieur du joint, la surface du deuxième élément (1) à distance du joint, et à autoriser un rapprochement des éléments (1, 4) entre eux pour les assembler, de manière étanche, au moyen du joint (20) en fusion. <IMAGE>
