[origin: EP0839752A1] The cage (3) has a loading ramp (4) mounted in its floor (1). The ramp can pivot between a locked raised position and a lowered position leading down from the cage. The ramp has side guards (12) mounted to the cage's side wall (2) on bearings and connected to the ramp via a linkage (14). The guards can slide backwards and forwards with respect to the walls. The linkage contains articulated joint axles (17,18) parallel to the ramp's pivot axle (5).
