Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0839935A2] A trash removal system for a multi-position open end spinning machine has a trash conveyor band (46,47) running in a duct (45). Trash ports (51) lead from the fibre opening housing (41) into the duct (45). Apart from the trash ports (51), the duct (45) has a closed profile. The trash ports (51) are situated in the wall (61) facing the fibre opening section (10) of the spinning units. Preferably in the fibre opening section (10)the opening roller (40) produces a stream of fibres to the rotor (23). Trash is thrown into the trash exit (44) from where it is continuously removed by a conveyor belt (46,47) in the duct (45). The duct (45) is made up of U-shaped sheet metal parts (49) and has a hinged flap (62) so that it can be opened and both parts of the band (46,47) become accessible for cleaning. The continuous movement of the trash belt (46) induces an air flow in the upper half of the duct. Near the trash ports (51) the top of the duct has inclined guide vanes (54) which, together with the induced air flow, produce a slight suction at the trash ports (51) and prevent accumulations of deposits.
