Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0839953A1] The shoe press assembly, especially in a papermaking machine, has two rollers (1, 11), each with a shoe (6, 8) with flat support surfaces (4, 7). The support surfaces (4, 7) in each shoe (6, 8) are generally parallel to each other, forming a press gap (20) between them. At least one support (12) is radially flexible, and especially elastic. Preferably at least one (1) of the two rollers has radial and flexible supports (12, 13) for both axial ends of the roller mantle (3). The supports (12, 13) are opposite the axial end zones of the shoe (8) of the other roller (11), and support them. The second roller (11) has rigid discs to support the axial end sections of its roller mantle (10). Both rollers (1, 11) each have radial and flexible supports (12) for an axial end zone of the roller mantles (3, 10) and opposite an axial end zone of the shoe (8) with support. The rollers (1, 11) have a rigid disc to support the other axial end zone of the roller mantles (3, 10). The flexible supports (12, 13) can be arranged in pairs for both axial end zones of the roller mantles (3, 10) of both rollers (1, 11). The radial and flexible supports (12, 13) have bellows (14, 15) with an air-filled hose (16, 17).
