Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0840053A1] Ceramic segments of damp felt matting (1) are fixed to the cooling surface (2) by fixture pins (4) and washers (5). The pins are welded only to the arms of the pipe wall (6) of the cooling surface. The outline of the pipe to arm to pipe wall of the cooling surface of the heat exchanger wall has a smooth flush surface by applying thermally insulating material (3). Expanded metal (8) is fixed over the rows of pins and into the edge parts of the ceramic damp felt matting segments.
