[origin: EP0840333A1] The switch mechanism is preferably in the form of a magnetic switch with a direction detection device for monitoring the position of a switch element (10) of the mechanism (10) which is coupled to the path detector (30) via a releasable connection device. The connection device has a spring elastic connection part (56) which passes through one of the detector (30) and the switch mechanism (10) and engages with the other. The connector part (56) is preferably a stirrup spring with two legs movable under spring force relative to each other. The legs engage the switch mechanism. The connector part (56) may be formed of a sprung steel wire.
