[origin: EP0841162A1] The function monitor is for the lacquering device of a printing press, in which a dosing device sends the medium via a supply device to a run-out bath to receive the excess. The supply of the medium is controlled by a control device. There is at least one contactless sensor (8) for the filling state of the medium for dosing going from the dosing device into the run-out bath (5). Signals from the sensor are processed by an evaluator (9) for the generating of control signals to control the supply device (3).
