[origin: EP0841417A1] The eyelet in the disc (1) of a leno selvedge unit for a loom, takes the leno yarn round a common centre axis (3) through a theoretical cone-shaped entry (4) and identical exit (5) path. The theoretical cone is from a line round the centre axis, where the radius (R1) of an edge (7,8) at the entry and exit (4,5) forms a projection (9) in the yarn passage (6) with the radius (R2) between the yarn entry and exit. The eyelet (2) has a hard chrome surface layer, or is of a ceramic material.
