[origin: EP0841433A1] The rail fixing assembly consists of a flexible plate which is fixed to the sleeper by an anchor bolt, and an insulating spacer (2) between the plate and rail foot. It also has a lateral stop (3) which is fitted between the edge of the rail foot on an elastic sole plate and the sleeper. The upper surface of the lateral stop has at least two recesses (31, 32) which lie symmetrically relative to its transverse axis and have inner inclined faces (31a, 32a). The recesses are designed to engage with matching projections (21, 22) on the inner face of the spacer (2) which lock the flexible plate from rotation and vertical movement. The under surface of the stop has an additional recess to receive a tongue on the lateral edge of the sole plate.
