[origin: EP0841488A2] The cylinder comprises a cylinder tube (1), which is smooth before assembly, has holder collars (16) at the ends, and is pressed into recessed grooves (19) of cylinder cover (3) or base (2). In the end pressed sections (20), the cylinder tube has reinforcing collars (21) on the outside, which are also pressed. The reinforcing collars may be formed by holder rings (22), put in position before the pressing stage, and held captive on the cylinder tube, preferably with a slight press fit.
