[origin: EP0841686A2] The discharge lamp (1) has a discharge envelope (2) containing a pair of discharge electrodes (4,5) and gas mixture provided by an inert gas, Hg, a halogen, Tl, Hf, or Zr, Dy and/or Gd and Cs and Y. The molecular ratio between the Y and the rare earth metals lies in the range between 0.5 and 2, with the quantity of Cs reduced relative to a lamp filling gas which does not contain Y.
