[origin: EP0842620A1] The brush consists of a core (322) with radially-implanted bristles, connected at one end by a rod to a holder, e.g. in the form of a container cap. The core of the brush is curved in shape, while at least part of its outer surface has an elongated cross-section, with the longer axis of the cross-section lying in the plane of the curve (C3). The portion of the brush which has an elongated cross-section covers at least 50-57% of its length, while the curve (C3) is in the form of an arc of a circle. The initial shape of the brush before it is curved and trimmed to give it an elongated cross-section can be a cylinder, a section of a cone, a rugby ball, a buoy, a fish, a peanut, a shell or a teardrop.
