[origin: EP0842706A2] The painting plant has a ring line (20) closed by an automatically controlled locking valve (16,36,37) in the pauses between coatings downstream of the inflow lines (32,32',34,34') leading to the painting devices (25,26,28,29). In this condition, the painting material from the inflow lines goes through a separate return line (35,35') behind the closing point back into the ring line. There may be a second closing point (37) downstream of the first one.
