[origin: EP0842856A1] The method involves separating the strips (10) from a material strip (14) by transverse separating cuts one after the other for application to cigarette packets (11) on a turntable or similar. They are transported further transversely to the material strip. A suction belt (31) is used for this transportation. Adhesive points are applied to the reverse side of the strips during their transportation. These points are aligned in rows.
