[origin: EP0842857A2] The bottle-shaped container (B) is produced in a two stage injection-blow moulding process and has one or more radial projections (2) in the neck (1) to facilitate alignment of the injection moulded container preform in the blowing mould. The container has a base (18) whose wall thickness in a central area is greater than in the container side wall. In a process for manufacturing the container (B) a rotationally symmetric preform is injection moulded, heated uniformly over the entire surface and then locally heated around the periphery before transferring to a blow moulding station for inflation.
