[origin: EP0843101A2] The fan wheel consists of a cast disc on which there is a large number of rearward-curved air scoops (16). These run starting from a region (14) close to the hub (12) more or less parallel to each other and curved backwards to the external circumference of the disc. The scoops may start from a deeper annular region close to the hub and may extend over at least the outer half of the radius of this region. The wheel may be a pressure casting or a sand casting, or may be moulded from sheet metal.
