The invention relates to a gas burner (1) either of the atmospheric or premix type comprising a casing (2, 102) in the shape of a tube or of a ramp and enclosing a mixing element (6) capable, when used, of creating a mixture of gas and air inside the casing (2, 102); in the portion (12) of the wall (13) defining the lateral surface of the casing (2, 102) there is a plurality of first flame ports (14) designed to allow the combustion mixture of gas and air out of the casing (2, 102) and there is also at least one second port (15, 15t) consisting of a structural break, preferably a slot, substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (3) of the casing (2, 102). <IMAGE>
