[origin: EP0844454A1] The heat exchanger has plates (1) which are fitted above, below or against each other to form intermediate cavities (6). They are sealed to each other at the edges (8). Two fluid flows (A,B) pass through the intermediate cavities alternately in opposite directions. Each plate has a sinusoidal cross-section (3), with wave troughs (4) and wave crests (5). The wave troughs lie against the wave crests of the adjacent plate at one side, and the wave crests lie against the wave troughs of the plate on the other side.
