[origin: EP0844631A2] The switching device has a contact device with coaxial movable and stationary contacts (2,7), one of which has a number of spring contact fingers (13), separated from one another by radial slits (26) parallel to the central axis (2), defining a contact finger cage (25). The side flanks of the contact fingers are prevented from contacting one another when the contact fingers are pressed together, so that they are not welded together, e.g. by the width of the radial slits.
