Abstract (en)

The hammer comprises a handle (1) and hammer head (2) equipped with a steel point (5) for which a protective device is provided. The protective device comprises a plastics cap covering the steel point fitted on the hammer head. The cap is arranged on the hammer head by adhesion, clipping or spraying. The steel point is located within the hammer head and is supported by a weight basic body (12) loaded by a retention spring (13) arranged telescopically in a hammer head hollow space (11). The weight basic body catapults the steel point against the force of the retention spring out of the hammer head hollow space. The hammer head comprises a one-piece cast part, such as cast iron or zinc pressure casting, with a formed-on handle and an inserted steel point.
