The equipment is driven by an engine (3), which is mounted between at least two rollers (1,2), which are arranged one behind the other in the direction of travel. It also has ballast equipment (5), and at least the main part of this is located between the rollers. The engine or the ballast equipment can be moved, in order to improve the access to the engine for maintenance purposes. This movement may be possible in a roughly horizontal direction, and the engine or ballast equipment may be able to slide or swing on guides.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein motorbetriebenes Bodenverdichtungsgerät mit Ballastmitteln (5). Diese Ballastmittel sind zumindest überwiegend zwischen den Rollen (1,2) des Verdichtungsgerätes angeordnet und verfahrbar gelagert. Alternativ kann auch der Motor (3) zwecks besserer Zugänglichkeit verfahrbar sein. <IMAGE>
