Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0846424A1] The device comprises a suction stream conveyor (10) that has a continuous porous band (12). Tobacco fibres are conveyed from above to lower side under vacuum along a tobacco channel (20). There is a pre-equalising system (26) to homogenise the lengths of the conveyed tobacco streams (24). The pre-equalising system has a running cutter (30) arranged on the lower half of the tobacco channel. The cutter may be a circular cutter and may be arranged such that, when viewed from above, its edge region overlaps the tobacco channel. The circular cutter may be driven at such a revolution that it turns, with the tobacco channel overlapping edge region, faster than the band.
