Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0846618A2] A process for packaging tubular packaging films involves: (i) pushing the front end of a tubular film onto a gathering mandrel; (ii) gathering the film by pushing towards the front end of the tube and creating an annular bulge with the circumferential folds; (iii) folding over one end of the film to form a cover surrounding the outside of the annular bulge; and (iv) sealing one end of the folded over end section to form a pocket open at one side.
