[origin: EP0846807A2] The post comprises a foot (2) anchored in the ground, and a shaft (1), connected to it via a joint (6). The shaft is folded down into an aperture in the ground, against a return spring (3), which is pretensioned to retain the upright shaft with a torque against a stop. The torque corresponds to at least 20% of the torque, which is applied in the opposite direction by the weight of the shaft when it is folded down. The spring is a gas pressure spring, and is positioned, so that during folding-down of the shaft, the effective contact lever of the spring extends through a maximum.
