[origin: EP0846912A2] The lamp has a free-surface reflector. Grooves in this surface are in a plane at right angles to the horizontal plane through the optical axis. The planes of the grooves run at different angles relative to the vertical plane through the optical axis, the range being between -20 degrees and +20 degrees . The enclosed angle by the plane of the grooves with the vertical plane through the optical axis is in the region of 50 degrees . For each groove, the projections of the end of the bulb facing the reflector over groove regions lying above the horizontal plane through the optical axis lie higher on a projection surface.
