[origin: EP0847229A1] The switch receives signals from a number of branches, with the incoming signal connected to the controller (BI) and to a number of remote switches (PR), whose paralleled switch-wires are received at a terminal (P) on the controller. The loads (A,B) e.g. incandescent lamps, are connected to corresponding controlled-output terminals on the controller and to a neutral terminal (N). The controller's integrated circuits, with memory and pulse modulated facilities permit programmable power variation at one or more load points. Similar facilities are optionally available at the remote switching points (PR). Optionally the controller responds interactively to radio, IR or other remote operating signals. It is also possible to vary lamp loads to suit changing levels of ambient illumination.
