Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19653697C1] The machine has one or more brush rollers (4), which are rotated in a brush carriage (1,2) that travels over a surface to be cleaned. The roller is rotated to thrust the carriage forward. Two holding ropes (8) are attached under tension to points on the carriage. The points are spaced apart, so that the carriage can be slewed parallel to the surface. The end of each rope furthest from the carriage can be wound onto a drum (10). The drums turn independently of each other to slew the carriage. A winch can be coupled to the carriage to assist its forward movement. The drums can be arranged to slew on a common vertical mounting spindle (16).
