[origin: EP0848157A1] The fuel supply unit has a fuel pump (6) supplying fuel (2) from a fuel container (3) to the internal combustion engine (1) of a vehicle. There is a pressure maintenance valve (11) in the supply line (4) outside the fuel container, fitted in the container cap (9). This valve closes the line when the engine and fuel pump are switched off. The pressure maintenance valve may have a connector (10) for the fuel line connected to the cap. The valve may be in a hose coupling of the fuel line on the fuel container cap.
