A device for the selection of washing programs for a washing appliance comprising an access door (3) to a washing tank (2) that is hinged at its lower edge to a frame (1) of said washing appliance, comprising a cursor (9) mounted on an upper edge (7) of said door (3) and slideable longitudinally to said upper edge (7). Said cursor (9) controls a programmer (12) mounted within said frame (1) that, in accordance with a setting of said cursor (9), determines the execution of a respective predetermined washing program. <IMAGE>
