Abstract (en)
The method involves fitting the cutting tool bit (12) to a rotating mount (16) and positioning it inside a treatment chamber (10). High pressure fluid jets (28) are directed at the tool bit while it rotates. The jets remove any burrs without blunting the cutting edges. Water or oils can be used for the jets. The treatment chamber can be circular, with the jets (26) spaced around the circumference. Pressure levels for the jets are between 50 and 1000 bar depending on the material of the cutting tool. The jets can be set in different planes to cover the length of the cutting edge of the tool.

Bei einem Verfahren zum Entgraten der Schneidkanten (14) eines Schneidwerkzeuges (12) wird eine unter hohem Druck durch wenigstens eine Düse (26) geleitete Flüssigkeit in der Form wenigstens eines Flüssigkeitsstrahls (28) mit einer zum Abtrennen der Grate ausreichend hohen Geschwindigkeit auf die Schneidkanten geleitet. Eine Vorrichtung zum Entgraten der Schneidkanten (14) eines eine Rotationsachse (z) aufweisenden Schneidwerkzeuges (12) umfasst ein Einspannmittel (16) zum vorübergehenden Einspannen des zu entgratenden Schneidwerkzeuges (12) sowie wenigstens eine quer zur Rotationsachse (z) angeordnete und auf das Schneidwerkzeug (12) gerichtete flüssigkeitsführende Düse (26), wobei die Düsen (26) und/oder das Einspannmittel (16) zum Ausführen einer Drehbewegung um die Rotationsachse (z) eingerichtet sind. Das Entgraten erfolgt schonend und ohne Verletzung oder Abrundung der Schneidkanten. <IMAGE>
