[origin: EP0849048A1] The tweezer has two arms connected together. The functional end of each has a jaw (310,320), and each jaw has an oblong grip edge (311,321) and a pointed tip at its end. Thus, when the tweezers are closed they form a common point (35) and a co-planar wedge-shaped surface which cuts the longitudinal direction of the tweezers in an acute angle. The ratio of the height to base of this surface is at least 4 and the ratio of the length of the two arms converging towards the pointed end to the overall thickness of the arms is at most 5. The arms of the tweezers can be connected together fixedly at the connecting point or movable like scissors.
