[origin: EP0849384A1] The mechanism to form the shed, in a Jacquard loom, has two coaxial shafts (20,21) within a rigid tube (22) held by fixed support plates (23,24) at the ends. A cam assembly (13-17) gives an alternating rotary movement to the shafts, from a drive input shaft. Also claimed is an assembly operation. Initially, the structures (5,6) are assembled with the selection modules (31'). The coaxial shafts are fitted into a rigid tube, which is supported by rigid mounting plates at the ends. A cam mechanism is fitted to the drive assembly, on the structure fitted with the selection modules.
