[origin: EP0849412A2] The end face of a timber structural panel has a profiled flange-like layer region projecting beyond the remaining end face forming and an end stop for a projecting layer region of an adjacent panel or an intermediate member (20). A channel (21) is formed, running along the side of abutting layer regions, dimensioned for insulation and/or installation material. A sliding coupling member (22) can be joined to the two layer regions or a layer region and the intermediate member. When the panel is used for a ceiling, the projection of the layer region is preferably at least half the width of intermediate spaces (14) running parallel to one another in the timber panel. The profiling of the end faces preferably forms a key and slot joint.
