[origin: EP0849437A1] The mechanism consists of a camshaft (18) which actuated the valve stem (20) by means of a cam (24) and a rocker (22) containing a roller (28). The first end (22A) of the rocker oscillates about a thrust member (26) mounted on a supporting surface (16) of the engine. The height of the thrust member can be adjusted by a sliding rotary plate (36) with two curved slots (48,50), one for a fixing bolt (58) and the other for the thrust member. The thrust member interacts via a collar with a sloping surface on the plate when it is rotated, raising or lowering it as required. The plate is then locked in position by the bolt.
