[origin: EP0849550A1] The liquid gas cooling system has a container (10) holding the low temperature liquid gas and containing a heat exchanger (32) of a heat exchange circuit (18) for cooling the high temperature superconductor cable containing a second liquid gas heat transfer medium. A vacuum pump (24) is used for maintaining the internal pressure of the container at below the atmospheric pressure, with a pressure regulator (40) in the heat exchange circuit maintaining it at above the atmospheric pressure.
