[origin: EP0850785A1] This is a new method decorating composites. A decorated complex is assembled with a reinforcing structure. This is based on a resin flowing under heat in a later cycle of hot pressing. There are at least two stages to the process. During the first, the decoration is transferred using the ink sublimation printing onto the first face (100) of a layer of transparent or translucent plastic material (1). In the second, novel stage a collage film (3) is adhered under heat and pressure to the assembly, onto the first face (100). This comprises a contrasting metal or metal alloy sheet (5). A mesh (4) may be placed between the contrast sheet (5) and the first face (100). Preferred materials of construction include aluminium and ionomeric polyolefin. Glass fibre reinforcement is included.
