A sheet processing apparatus includes a first stacker (130) for stacking sheets discharged thereto; a feeder (180) for feeding a set of sheets from the first stacker; a second stacker (200) for stacking the set of sheets fed by the feeder; a shifting device for shifting the sheets stacked on the first stacker; a controller for grouping the sheet in a set into a plurality of groups of sheets, and stacking, shifting and feeding the sheets, for each group, to the first stacker, and for stacking the set of sheets on the second stacker. <IMAGE>
