[origin: EP0850871A2] The method involves winding a cable (3) onto a driven reel (1) and conveying it to at least one drum head (2) turned by a drive mechanism (40,45) and advancing the cable by means of the friction between the cable and drum head. The reel's drive mechanism (5,6) is separately positioned beside the drum head drive mechanism. The reel is driven by the cable's tension force between the reel and drum head. The displacement volume of a hydraulic motor (5) driving the reel is set in relation to the load of the hydraulic motor.
