The injector is connected to a high-pressure fuel pipe, and contains an injection valve (3) opening in the fuel-flow direction and towards the combustion chamber. The valve is shut by closing fuel-pressure and/or spring action, and opened by opening fuel pressure in a pressure chamber (12) and acting via a plunger (10). A valve (14) actuated by fuel pressure opens and shuts a connecting passage (18) between the pressure chamber and the high-pressure fuel pipe. The pressure in this pipe acts on the valve (14) in the opening direction, while it is shut by a controlling fuel pressure. A control valve (15) periodically relieves the valve (14) of the control pressure. The closing and spring pressures can be arranged to act at a point near the combustion chamber, and the plunger at one further from it.

Eine an eine Hochdruck-Brennstoffleitung (4) angeschlossene Einspritzdüse für Brennstoffeinspritzvorrichtungen von Brennkraftmaschinen weist ein in Strömungsrichtung des Brennstoffes bzw. zum Brennraum (9) öffnendes Einspritzventil (3) auf, bei welchem ein Brennstoffdruck (Schließdruck Ps) und/oder eine Federkraft in Schließrichtung wirkt. Ein Brennstoffdruck (Öffnungsdruck) in einer Druckkammer (12) wirkt über einen Kolben (10) in Öffnungsrichtung des Einspritzventils (3). Die Einspritzdüse (1) weist ein vom Brennstoffdruck (pC) betätigtes Wegeventil (14) auf, das zur Steuerung des Öffnungsdruckes eine Verbindung (Verbindungsleitung 18) zwischen der Druckkammer (12) und der Hochdruck-Brennstoffleitung (4) schließt und öffnet, wobei der Brennstoffdruck (pC) in der der Hochdruck-Brennstoffleitung (4) in Öffnungsrichtung des Wegeventils (14) wirkt. Das in Schließrichtung von einem Brennstoffdruck (Steuerdruck pSt) beaufschlagte Wegeventil (14) ist mittels eines Steuerventils (15) vom Steuerdruck periodisch druckentlastbar. Derartige Einspritzdüsen eignen sich für Brennstoffeinspritzvorrichtungen, die nach dem sog. "Common-Rail-Prinzip" arbeiten. Die Erfindung hat den Vorteil, daß für die Betätigung der Einspritzdüse neben dem ohnehin zur Verfügung stehenden Brennstoff kein separates Steuerfluid erforderlich ist. <IMAGE>
